The Cat5E U/UTP construction provides an unshielded four-pair cable for fixed voice and Ethernet wiring. It uses 24 AWG solid bare copper conductors, PE insulation and an LSZH outer sheath. Its nominal overall diameter is 5.1 mm. The range table also includes F/UTP and SF/UTP alternatives so projects needing an overall metallic screen can select a separate construction.

Four unshielded twisted pairs with solid copper conductors.
PE insulation and thermoplastic LSZH LTS3 outer sheath.
Cat5E transmission data through 100 MHz.
Choose U/UTP where the network design calls for unshielded cabling and compatible connectors. For an electrically noisy route, assess the screened alternatives together with the system bonding and termination design. Optional UV, oil and hydrocarbon resistance must be specified separately from the base LSZH construction. The images illustrate the four-pair Cat5E range; select the U/UTP construction in the table for this product.
What does U/UTP mean?
The cable has no overall metallic screen and no individual pair screens.
How many conductors does the cable contain?
Four twisted pairs contain eight insulated copper conductors.
What is the U/UTP cable diameter?
The construction table lists a nominal overall diameter of 5.1 mm.
Why are F/UTP and SF/UTP also listed?
They are alternative screened constructions in the same Cat5E range, with different overall diameters.
Does the LSZH sheath automatically provide UV resistance?
UV resistance is listed as an option and should be stated in the order when needed.
