APPLICATIONS

S2 or S2/S6 RFOU(c) 250V Cable is a high-performance marine cable compliant with the NEK 606 standard. This power and control cable features outstanding characteristics such as flame retardancy, low smoke emission, halogen-free composition, and mud resistance . It is widely used in instrumentation, communication, control, and alarm systems within offshore engineering applications, making it an ideal choice for demanding environments such as offshore platforms and vessels.

CONSTRUCTION

Electrical Characteristics

ConductorsCircular tinned annealed stranded copper wire to IEC 60228 class 2.
InsulationHalogen free EPR compound.
TwinningColour coded cores twisted together.
Individual ShieldingPairs/triples are layed up and collectively screened by copper backed polyester tape in contact with a stranded tinned copper drain wire.

Pairs/triples are numbered with numbered tape or by numbers printed directly on the insulated conductors.
BeddingHalogen free compound.
ArmourTinned copper wire braid.
Outer SheathHalogen free thermosetting compound, SHF2 (for TYPE S2).

Halogen free MUD resistant thermosetting compound, SHF MUD (for TYPE S2/S6), coloured grey (blue for intrinsically safe).
