600/1000V XLPE insulated PVC sheathed
armoured cable to BS5467 is designed
for fixed low voltage power distribution.
It is suitable for commercial buildings,
industrial plants, infrastructure projects,
utility installations and outdoor power systems.
The cable can be installed on cable trays,
in cable ducts, in trenches, underground
and in direct burial applications,
subject to project specification
and local installation requirements.
The XLPE insulation provides reliable
electrical performance and thermal stability.
The PVC outer sheath provides general
protection against moisture, abrasion
and normal installation conditions.
The steel wire armoured construction
provides mechanical protection for
demanding fixed installation routes.
This cable is commonly used for power
and control circuits where mechanical
protection and stable power supply
are required.
It should not be described as a BS6387
fire resistant circuit integrity cable
unless mica tape and circuit integrity
performance are specified.
The cable should be selected according to
voltage rating, number of cores,
conductor size, conductor material,
armour type, installation method
and project specification.

BS5467 600/1000V XLPE insulated
PVC sheathed armoured cable is commonly
selected for low voltage power distribution
where mechanical protection and fixed
installation are required.
For multicore cables, steel wire armour
is commonly used to provide mechanical
protection.
If low smoke zero halogen sheath
performance is required, BS6724 cable
is usually selected instead.

FAQ
What is this BS5467 cable used for?
This cable is used for fixed low voltage
power distribution.
It is suitable for buildings,
industrial plants, infrastructure projects,
outdoor routes, cable ducts, trenches
and underground installations.
What is the voltage rating of this cable?
This page is for 600/1000V
XLPE insulated PVC sheathed armoured cable
to BS5467.
Is this cable LSZH?
No. BS5467 cable normally uses
a PVC outer sheath.
If LSZH performance is required,
BS6724 cable is usually selected instead.
Is this cable fire resistant?
BS5467 cable has flame retardant
performance according to relevant
fire test requirements.
It should not be described as a
BS6387 circuit integrity fire resistant cable
unless mica tape and circuit integrity
performance are specified.
Is this cable armoured?
Yes. This page is for armoured
BS5467 cable.
The armour provides mechanical protection
for fixed installation routes.
Can this cable be used underground?
Yes. It can be used in underground routes,
cable ducts, trenches and direct burial
applications, subject to project specification
and local installation requirements.
