EEMUA 133 lead covered armoured power cable
to BS5467 is designed for fixed power
and control circuits in demanding
industrial environments.
It is suitable for petrochemical plants,
oil refineries, chemical facilities,
industrial plants, power stations
and infrastructure projects.
The cable is commonly used where
additional protection against hydrocarbons,
oil, moisture, solvents and corrosive
environments is required.
The XLPE insulation provides reliable
electrical performance and thermal stability.
The lead covering provides enhanced
protection against aromatic hydrocarbons,
solvent penetration and corrosive attack.
The PVC outer sheath provides general
protection against moisture, abrasion
and normal installation conditions.
The armoured construction provides
mechanical protection for fixed
installation routes.
This cable is suitable for installation
on cable trays, in cable ducts,
in trenches, underground and in
industrial cable routes.
It is commonly selected for power
distribution systems where mechanical
protection and environmental resistance
are both required.
The cable should be selected according to
voltage rating, number of cores,
conductor size, lead sheath requirement,
armour type, installation method
and project specification.

EEMUA 133 lead covered armoured cable
is commonly selected for petrochemical,
refinery and industrial projects where
hydrocarbon resistance and mechanical
protection are required.
The lead covering provides additional
environmental protection compared with
standard PVC sheathed armoured cables.
If low smoke zero halogen performance
is required, a different cable construction
should be confirmed according to project
specification.

FAQ
What is EEMUA 133 lead covered cable used for?
It is used for fixed power and control
circuits in petrochemical plants,
oil refineries, chemical facilities,
industrial plants and harsh environments.
What is the benefit of lead covering?
The lead covering provides enhanced
protection against hydrocarbons,
oil, solvents, moisture and corrosive attack.
It is useful in demanding industrial
and petrochemical environments.
Is this cable the same as standard BS5467 cable?
No. It is based on armoured power cable
construction, but includes a lead covering
for additional environmental protection.
Standard BS5467 cable normally does not
include a lead sheath.
Is this cable LSZH?
No. This page focuses on PVC sheathed
lead covered armoured cable.
If LSZH performance is required,
the cable construction should be confirmed
separately according to project requirements.
Is this cable fire resistant?
This cable may have flame retardant
performance according to relevant
fire test requirements.
It should not be described as a
BS6387 circuit integrity fire resistant cable
unless mica tape and circuit integrity
performance are specified.
Is this cable suitable for refineries?
Yes. EEMUA 133 lead covered cable
is commonly used in refineries,
petrochemical plants and chemical facilities
where hydrocarbon and chemical protection
are required.
Can this cable be used underground?
Yes. It can be used in underground routes,
ducts, trenches and industrial cable routes,
subject to project specification
and local installation requirements.
What information is required for quotation?
Please confirm voltage rating,
number of cores, conductor size,
conductor material, lead sheath requirement,
armour type and cable length.
Installation method, sheath colour,
standard and destination port
are also required.
Can BURYCABLE supply EEMUA 133
lead covered armoured cable?
Yes. BURYCABLE can supply EEMUA 133
lead covered armoured power cables
according to project voltage, core number,
conductor size, armour type, length
and packing requirements.
