Type C1 and C2 cables provide signalling tails between equipment and railway location wiring. Both use 2.5 mm² class 5 tinned copper conductors with GP4 EPR insulation and an RS2 HDPCP outer sheath. C1 is the single-core version; C2 groups several cores within one sheath. The flexible conductor construction assists routing and termination at equipment, with bend limits still applying during installation.

Routine test voltage: 2.5kV for 5 minutes
2.5 mm² class 5 conductors, with a listed strand construction of 50/0.25 mm.
Single-core C1 and C2 arrangements from 2 to 16 cores in the dimension table.
EPR insulation and HDPCP sheath, with a listed 0.65/1.1 kV voltage rating.
Match the core count to the equipment wiring diagram and select terminals suitable for fine-stranded conductors. Allow the listed 15 times overall-diameter radius while handling the cable and 6 times in its final static position. State any repeated movement, vibration or special environmental duty as a separate application requirement.

Type B1 & B2 Railway Signalling Cable, EPR Insulation and HDPCP Sheath
What is the conductor size?
The C1 and C2 constructions on this page use 2.5 mm² conductors.
How do C1 and C2 differ?
C1 has one insulated conductor inside the sheath. C2 uses the multicore arrangements listed in the table.
Does class 5 mean continuous-flex service?
Class 5 identifies a flexible conductor construction. Repeated-motion service also requires a cable design and testing appropriate to that duty.
Is a screen included?
C1 and C2 are listed without a metallic screen. The related Type C3 construction adds an aluminium tape screen and drain wire.
What should be supplied for a quotation?
Provide the type, core count, route length, terminal arrangement and any project-specific acceptance or environmental requirements.
