Profinet Type A Cable for Radiation Areas and Armoured Outdoor Routes
Two Profinet Type A constructions: a PUR-sheathed version with cross-linked insulation for radiation-area specifications, and a steel-armoured PE-sheathed version for fixed outdoor routes. Both use screened solid copper cores.

APPLICATION AND DESCRIPTION

This range covers two distinct Profinet Type A constructions. The radiation-area version combines cross-linked XLPE insulation, a cross-linked TPR inner jacket and a PUR outer sheath. The outdoor version uses PE insulation, a PVC inner jacket, steel armour and a black PE outer sheath. Each construction has its own dimensions and installation limits.

KEY FEATURES

  • Solid AWG 22/1 bare copper cores arranged as a star quad.

  • Aluminium-lined foil and tinned copper braid screens on both versions.

  • Separate 6.5 mm PUR and 9.3 mm armoured PE constructions.

SELECTION NOTES

Specify the construction by its complete layer arrangement. For radiation-area projects, include radiation type, dose and exposure conditions in the technical enquiry so the material specification can be agreed. For outdoor routes, account for the armoured cable diameter and the listed 93 mm laying radius.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is the radiation-area version also the armoured version?

They are separate constructions. Steel armour is listed for the outdoor PE-sheathed version.

What materials are used in the radiation-area construction?

Cross-linked XLPE insulation, a cross-linked TPR inner jacket and a PUR outer sheath, with foil and braid screening.

What is the diameter of the outdoor version?

The armoured outdoor cable has an overall diameter of 9.3 ± 0.5 mm.

How do the laying bend limits compare?

The radiation-area construction specifies 46 mm; the outdoor armoured construction specifies 93 mm.

What temperature limits are listed?

Both start at −40°C. The radiation-area construction extends to +80°C and the outdoor armoured construction to +70°C.
