APPLICATION

The L2 7-wire construction is intended for mobile fieldbus connections. Each signal conductor uses seven copper strands, with foam-skin PE insulation and a violet PVC outer sheath. Foil and braid screens surround the red and green pair for connections between automation equipment and field units.

KEY FEATURES

  • AWG 22/7 bare copper conductors for the mobile-use construction.

  • Aluminium-lined polyester foil and tinned copper braid screens.

  • 7.8 ± 0.3 mm outer diameter and approximately 75.0 kg/km weight.

SELECTION NOTES

Match the cable to the movement pattern and the connector’s stranded-conductor termination. Use the listed laying radius of 10 times the overall diameter for installation planning. For guided drag-chain travel or torsional movement, compare the dedicated constructions linked below.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does “7-wire” mean seven signal cores?

No. AWG 22/7 describes a seven-strand conductor. This cable has two insulated signal conductors forming one pair.

What is the outer sheath material?

The outer sheath is PVC, with violet as the listed colour.

What screening construction is used?

An aluminium-lined polyester foil and an overall tinned copper braid surround the pair assembly.

What are the listed operating temperatures?

The operating temperature range is −20°C to +70°C.

How does it differ from the L2 drag-chain cable?

This version uses AWG 22/7 conductors and a PVC sheath. The dedicated drag-chain version uses a different stranded conductor construction and a PUR sheath.
